What do you do when you can only develop black and white at home, but you want colour? Grab a red, green and blue filter, and combine them in the computer!
Getting the colours right can be quite difficult. I used three colour filters, and an extra black and white “Key” exposure to get the right brightness. In this photo of Lock No 70, the sunset made the sky yellowish, which shows up in this photo. Unfortunately, all of these photos suffer from dull greens – I might look for a new green filter.
Sometimes, one of the exposures goes wrong. Here, the red exposure had a strange stripe over the lamppost. I did some work to fix it but ultimately, all of these images have scratches, flaws, and misalignments.
But sometimes, the photo just comes together.
